Douglas is a U.S. Navy veteran and former aerospace systems engineer with the U.S. Space Shuttle program. When the program ended he founded Cybernated Farm Systems (CFS), a sustainable agro-tech company focused on Smart Greenhouse Systems.
Parallel to this Douglas became an international public speaker on global sustainability, delivering lectures and presentations on how our science, engineering and technology advancements will likely impact our social, political and economic systems.
This work, combined with his work with CFS, allowed Douglas to attend food security conference meetings at the UNFAO in Rome and become a delegate of the UNFAO Private Sector Mechanism. His interaction with the UNFAO motivated Douglas to acquire his Master’s degree in International Relations, leveraging his engineering background with his desire to affect policy change for global sustainable development.
Beyond his professional life, Douglas is a loving husband, father and friend.
